Default Best tires for dry rock?

These are the tires I have. I can sipe and/or WD40-soak them if necessary (we can't get Simple Green or Purple Power unfortunately). I don't have funds for other tires atm.

We need a bit more info.
What rig are they going on?
Do you care about looks\scale?
Where are you located?
Do you comp?
If so what class\classes do you run?

Just to get started.

Considering the showing rovers had at US nationals and euro crawl in addition to my personal knowledge I'd put rovers at the top.

The bfg''s are decent if they're r35 and the lugs are all grooved so they conform to rocks.

I've got a set of white dot rovers with dual stage foams on a Redcat rs10. I think they're absolutely awesome. However that's comparing them to the stock redcat tires, which are complete garbage.

Which way should I groove them? Across side to side or straight ahead front to back?

I don't know whether they're r35; how would I tell? If they're not should I soak them in softener?

More than likely they are medium compound R40. Unless you specifically bought R35 versions, I am unaware of the 2.2 versions coming factory in the soft compound.

Feel the 1.9 Ripsaws (R35) then feel the BFG Krawlers (R40?).

Rovers are the best of those listed because they are a comp type tire, but i dont know if you need a scale type tire or not. If you own them all, try them all out and then decide which is best.

Nice. I'm assuming you used a dremel cutting wheel on high speed?

Yeah, they're 40's then. So for 2.2's: Rovers, then siped soaked BFG's, then soaked Rock Lizards? What about 1.9ish? Ripsaws, siped Trepadors, then soaked MT's?

Are Pro-Line BFG krawlers out of your budget? I've heard they're really good.

Yup, just a reinforced cut off wheel in the dremel. Makes a good bit of a mess but I haven't thought of anything that works more effectively yet.
