Default Single stage foams question

I bought a set of single stage crawler innovation foams for 1.55 Tires.

Using Rc4wd Wrangler MT/R, 3.54inch, there is an air gap since the foams are made for 3.4 to 3.6 tires.

I have no experience with single stage closed cell, is this normal? Should the tire be filled completly?

Default Single stage foams question

It’d be a lot of foam sizes if they were to market for each tire produced. I could live with that much gap on a 2.2 easily but on this smaller scale I don’t know. I’d need to have it in my hands to see. I do like the firm foams like that for go fast rigs, though.

Do you have any sort of small foam you could use to wrap the Deuces Wild to make it a dual stage and take up the gap some? It wouldn’t need be much. Something like the thin foam sheeting used instead of bubble wrap for shipping small things. Getting it in place will be the hard part.

It's still tons firmer than the Yeti Jr stock foams which are just a strip not even a full circle.

That gap is just puzzling me...

It says right in the product description : "these foams rely on a small air gap between the foam and tire..." Deuce's Wild Single Stage for 1.55 Tires; 3.40" - 3.60" Tall Foam Pair (2) - Crawler Innovations Try it out, and if you don't like it, do as others have said and wrap a softer foam (like most rtr crawlers come with) around the closed cell.

They will be fine, the air gap gives the tire tread a chance grip and rap around the surface.

Looks pretty good and just a little bit bigger than stock.

When i got my first set of single stage foams, Eddie, with Crawler Innovations advised me to cut 3 holes in the tires (between the tread) so they could breath. Being they are closed cell foam so they will not soak up water. Mine are in a set of MTZ and are still 1 of my better gripping tires.
