Default Tire pics?

There is a 'Wheel pics - no talking' thread here. I really wish there was a 'full tire (in action)(with wheel) - no talking' thread as well! I'd like to see tires throwing some dirt around

.. or maybe with just a quick comment on how the tires performed on the given surface.

Like:
Pit Bull Rock Beast, C.I. Deuces Wild Rock Beast, on hard rock - excellent grip. Happy with performance

Proline Tsl's in g8 compound, Both 5.4" and 4.3" are my go to tire...

2.2's slinging the good stuff.

On dry rock.

In snow.

Little 4.3" Tsl's...

In Mud.

Ice.

Sand.

Logs.

Rock.

These tires work very well on every surface. Might not be the best on any one surface, but don't leave me wishing for any more grip anywhere. These areas and conditions are present nearly every run, so I really need a diverse tire.

RockBeast XL ~ Proline BFG Krawler ~ Vaterra TSL ~ RockBeast SX

The RockBeast SX are still my favorite go-to tire. Good size for 1:10 bodies, enough ground clearance, and grip well. They come with decent 2-stage foams as well.

Hope this isn't too much talking...

> Traxxas Canyon Trail/ stock foams
> Proline TSL XL G8 compound/ Proline dual-stage foams
> Proline Flat Iron XL/ CI Lil' Nova 4.75" comp inner/ soft outer foams

> Observations: Both the TSL's and the Flat Irons perform very well in similar terrain... much better than the Canyon Trails. Performance is greatly diminished on steep/ loose/ dry inclines with a slight advantage going to the TSL's. For purely rock surfaces the Flat Irons seem to have the edge... otherwise I can't pick a definitive winner between the Proline sets. Haven't hit the deep mud with any of these yet.

> Quick note: Weight was the true game-changer. Going from lighter-weight battery packs to heavier packs DEFINITELY improved performance of all 3 sets of wheels/ tires.

Canyon Trail

TSL SX

Flat Iron

*** My buddy is running Proline MTR's ( with supplied foam which are just too soft for the weight of his TRX4). They fold easily and that creates instability and leads to tipping/ roll-overs. Absolutely awesome tire otherwise. Does well in loose dirt, steep hill climbs, and rock but not in tighter off-camber technical sections due to the foams.

MTR

Pit Bull PBX A/T (original foams) on my cc01. Love the performance, but the truck is too light to do them justice.

1.9 Pit Bull Growlers Alien compound mounted on 2.2 Vanquish bead lock wheels with CI 4.5 double deuce inner foam and Lil Nova medium outer foams. I love these tires on rocks and general trail crawling.

Pit Bull Mad Beast, ci deuces wild Mad Beast foam (perfect fit). SSD wheels.
My overall favourite tire/foam/wheel combination, and favourite tire. Looks awesome and performs amazingly well on rocks, wet and dry. Otherwise a great performer. I think they are much underrated.

I don't have many photos of tires in dirt-slinging action, but I do have tons of tires and lots of photos of them new on the bench as well as installed on vehicles out in the wild. Here's a small sampling.

Sticky? This tire thread/tire specific terrain opinions is very sticky worthy. I personally am into the smaller tire. I agree with Durok in regard to the 1.7 MTR and it’s scale and performance. I am also a big fan of the small pitbull offerings. Will add pics.

Sorry for not throwing dirt, but here's a comparison of looks.
Proline TSL SX XL - always a great performer.

Pit Bull Mad Beast - great performance and looks.

Pit Bull Rock Beast - scale looks and great grip.

Proline KR2 Baja. I think these are grossly underrated. They're great in all conditions, also when wet.

The enormous RC4WD Falken Wildpeak A/T. My least favourite tire. They're too big to fit C.I. foams, it seems.

I think the Deadbolt looks better with smaller tires. More balanced too.
Axial Ripsaws 1.9
Axial Ripsaws 2.2

Proline TSL SX (awesome tire)

Axial Bfgoodrich Krawler

Duratrax Showdowns - surprisingly good performance in wet forest
