| jconcepts tribute wheels on 17mm hex hub (?) As you already know jconcepts tribute wheels are sooooooooo cool, i really like the scale details so i wanted to buy them. Tribute rims come with 12mm hex hub. So the problem is that i have 17mm hex hub with 30mm extension, like this one and i don't really wanna switch to 12mm hex cause all of my wheels are 17mm based. Did anyone find a solution to put these babies on 17mm hex hub ? In the kits are included wheel adapters with different offsets (inside the marked area). They also sell an aluminum adapter But also comes with 12mm hex hub. Do you know if there is anything similar but with 17mm hex ? |

It depends on the bolt circle for those RC4WD adapters. Jconcepts has a different bolt circle than other hubs so it is very possible the RC4WD adapters won't work.

| Re: jconcepts tribute wheels on 17mm hex hub (?) I have an idea, i think we can find out if these adapters will fit. But we have to know 2 dimensions first from someone who has these wheels. What's the length of hole to hole (green line) ? and what's the length of hole to across hole (red line) ? |

Temporary thread derailment - still talking about Tribute wheels, however... Freestyle RC makes a rather nifty pin-drive aluminum adapter for the JConcepts wheels: Tribute Adapters |

Did anyone ever find a solution to this? I've been searching for the same solution. RC4WD has wheels that can be used with those 17mm adapters, but hey are so massively heavy. I'd prefer the lighter JConcept Tribute wheels if possible. Weights per wheel not including tire: RC4WD Universal Monster truck beadlock wheels weight: 11.9 oz JConcept Tribute wheel weight: 3.45 oz I'd really like to put some monster truck tires on a Tekno with 4s. So 12mm hexes are pretty much out of the question for me. 4s is to much power for 12mm hexes. I got some good photos of both the Tribute hub and the RC4WD hub and did some photoshop magic and got a measurement estimate. I assumed the Tribute wheel hub was 12mm and used that as my measuring point. I assumed the RC4WD hex hub was 17mm and used that as my measuring point. With those measuring point I measured the distance from screw hole to screw hole. Here are the results. Tribute hex adapter:
RC4WD hex adapter:
So the screw holes do not line up. Which means the RC4WD adapter will not fit on the JConcept tribute wheels. Last edited by WhoopWhoop; 11-26-2019 at 08:44 AM. |

I hope we can get a definitive answer on the fitment. I would like to put some monster truck wheels and tires on my Arrma Talion for the winter.

I'd really like a wheel that's not so heavy and full of metal like RC4WD beadlock wheels. Proline has some 3.8" wheels with 17mm hex adapters, but their clodbuster style wheel doesn't support their hex adapters which is pretty stupid. Last edited by WhoopWhoop; 11-26-2019 at 12:35 PM.

You are correct the Talion is a truggy and like your Tekno a beast. I run 6s and have sand tires for it but have been looking for a way to mount up some monster truck wheels and tires. I think they would be perfect for the snow and look killer. There is also a similar thread on the Arrma forum but so far with the same results no definitive solution to mount the wheels. By the way nice build thread!!

Thanks. Those are too skinny for what i'm looking for. These are 5" high and only 2.7" wide. I'm looking for something more like 5-6" high and ~4" wide. That can support 17mm hex. Ideally, I'd like to mount these tires.

Proline makes some. I don't think JConcepts does. Maybe you could adapt the Proline version to the Tribute wheels? The offer different offsets. Here's one: https://www.prolineracing.com/perfor...x-adapters.asp |

Yes good suggestion! But those proline wheels that those adapters fit are too skinny :-\ They won't fit tires like JConcept Firestorms. I called Proline about this. They said these adapters will not fit their monster truck style wheels. They claimed that they are "working on a product release for 2020 that solves this problem" but they wouldn't commit to it or tell em what the product is.

I successfully mounted JConcepts tires on RC4WD wheels and got the 17mm hex adapter working on a Tekno Truggy. Here's a build progress video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBvoGeADG7Q |

That's a good looking wheel. Are those the brand new RC4WD wheels or the older version?
