Default Alien (compound) vs Predator? - new Proline stuff

The good people at Proline have been dipping into the social media subtext with this GIF of a Predator kicking the crap out of an alien.

Upcoming tire compound battle?

Whatever is coming, that is some quality RC tire trolling.

Man if Proline comes out with a new compound I'll be so happy. G8 is amazing, and currently the best compound, but something a little softer with not much loss in durability as well as a good price would be awesome!

More 4.75" tires to choose from, yay!

But, would be really great if they did go with the Predator name.

They must be working on the sequel to the movie.

BTW isn't the Preditor kind of out of this world you know, like alien? just sayin

After tracking down the gif now I can see they're just showing off just how hard the aliens can tear up the rocks (walls)

Hope the new compound is good and they keep the bead the same or make it bigger so every 3rd thread from noobie is whining about their inability to mount them.

Badass marketing here!

I hope they come out with some ~4.4 inch tires in this compound.

This kind of reminds me of the naming war of sorts with the Shelby Cobra and De Tomaso's Mangusta (which means Mongoose)

Good find! Unfortunately, I think they're going to be 4.75" tires from their names - Hyrax and TSL XL.

I have no doubt the compound will kick ass. G8 is already the best. I just hope Proline keeps their reasonable pricing and doesn't go stupid like Pitbull.

Pitbull Alien tires are nice, but honestly not all that impressive compared to the competition, but the price is bat shit crazy.

The pricing on Proline's site has them only about $1.50 more per pair than the G8 versions. They will likely be around $28-29/pair in shops based on the other tires.

Yeah I saw that. I just hope that's the final pricing!

When is the Proline event happening? They will surely be released there if it's soon.

That is just not a realistic expectation. If you want rubber to be more durable you will have to sacrifice soft and sticky. If you want to have soft and sticky, you just have to accept that the tires are going to wear faster.

It is the nature of rubber

I understand that completely. That's why I said softer with "not much" loss in durability instead of "no" loss in durability.

There's a balance - too soft and it wears too much. Too wear resistant and it's not soft enough. I think Proline is currently at a great compromise. I rarely experience much wear on my Proline tires so I'd sacrifice a little wear for more performance.

Predator sounds way cooler than Alien, how do we even know if aliens have snot or noses?

The Predator killed my buddies dad, Carl Weathers.
