I have a set of the braven ironsides - they're fine. IMO the smallish diameter holds the rig back more than compound or tread, so get what clicks with you. Also IMO, the hyrax is not a very scale looking tire, for any of their sizes, but they do grip like a mutha. Even so, I still would not run them on anything.
Now with all that said, the braven is actually a copy of a ATV tire, so it's not all that scale either. [shrug]

So, what is it, scale or performance you're after???

I have not tried the tiny hyraxes but I have been happy with the 1.55 growlers and 1.55 rock beasts, both with CI lil nova foams.

The growlers can pack up easily but still grip. They work very well on a variety of surfaces.

The rock beast clear out very easily and have a lot of bite. I wish they were a little taller, 4.19 would be perfect. These will get even better as they break in.

I recently picked up a set of Braven Ironsides but haven’t tried them out yet. The foams are massive and the bead keep popping out when trying to mount. I’ll be ordering CI lil novas for them soon.

I don't have the 4.19 Hyrax yet, but I've seen them in action and I'd put them up against any Pitbull tire any day.

With custom cut tires anything can be scale.

I ran the xl 4.7 hyrax today. If the class 1 tires work as good as the Xl's I think I'm sold

Got my class 1 proline Hyrax tires today. I must say they were the easiest set of proline tires to mount that I have ever done. great fit on the Tf2 Marlin. will give them a test tomorrow morning. will run them on the same trail that I have run the Scx10 ii with hyrax Xl's

Well the class 1 Hyrax tires are great. Climb dirt hills just as well as the big Hyrax XL. The only limit was in the truck, the rc4wd Marlin just can't climb over obstacles as big as the Scx10 ii can, didn't expect to. It did however perform better than ever with the new tires.
