| 2.2 tires around 120mm tall
Did a search already but only found very old threads. Looking for a 2.2 tire that’s about 120mm tall. Closest I have seen is the RC4wd mudslinger. Any other choices?

There's a non-narrow version of those as well. Good performers! That's an odd size, Gotta go old school... all in the 4.5-4.7 range...off the top of my head: Proline Moabs, Flat Irons (Non XL) and Hammers. Panther Cougars are close, maybe a bit tall. Losi Rock Claws and Rock Carvers (Excellent tires BTW, but very rare anymore) Tamiya Cliff Crawlers are 120mm on the nose. Avoid the Vice Crawlers. Size is spot on, but they are a harder compound than the Cliffs. Quite a few older RC4WD tires as well - Spooky Crawlers etc. Can usually be found on Ebay with some digging. All out of production I believe except for the Tamiyas. There's quite a few off brand chinesium tires out there around that size as well. Cheap enough to experiment with I guess https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-2-...804188934.html Last edited by OSRC; 10-02-2018 at 06:55 AM. |

Im running into this issue also .. the truck i bought recently has the Junfac Mudrock MIR ENG 2.2s on it and the rc4wd mudslingers but i cant seem to find a 2.2 tire that measures up the same.. everything is huge compared to them.. couple people have told me to stretch the 1.9s onto the wheels but i dont know how i feel about that

Two tire size spreadsheets created by some great people: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1883783709 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Y...NaUHV3MWs/view I'll say it again, Grimm - gotta LOVE that Defender! Your tires choices all fill the wheelwells perfectly, not too big, not too small... And the black and silver color scheme is sweet! The round lights instead of a regular light bar up top, and the white roof, FTW! Last edited by durok; 10-08-2018 at 05:06 PM. |
