| Great 1.9 Tires
I gotta say that when the tires are great, it's damn hard to tell if one is better than the other. 1.9 Siped Flat Iron XL, Rockbeast XL and tall MT/R on the same testing terrain, in the same temps, in the same scx10 chassis and double deuce 4.5" soft are all so similar that I can't really tell a diffenerece. I will get my tall Hustler M/T and Deep Woods mounted again and try them next. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Cool, interested to see what you think between all of them.

Yeah tire testing is extremely hard to do in a controlled re-testable manner. There's just so many variables not to mention hitting the same lines exactly can be near impossible. Best of luck! Last edited by HumboldtEF; 10-24-2018 at 07:43 PM. |

Out if these 5 tires in the terrain shown in the pics, the Hustlers were the only set that I could definitely tell was lacking overall. The other 4 sets were too similar. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

| Re: Great 1.9 Tires Good testing. I wonder if the lugs on the Hustler's are too soft or bend too much. The compound is ok, but I think the lugs might be too bendy in certain conditions. They worked ok on my Sawback, but that was in comparison to the stock GMADE MT1903 tires.

So, this is one area i had a question on, but will start a new thread. How much flex should a tire really have?!?! The hustlers didn't flex / squish / distort / conform to the terrain much at all compared to the other 4 tires. I feel like too much tire roll will allow the lugs to fold over and not truly work. I will most liekly order another set of foams and try them as well. The weather has cooled off a bunch now though and I might not get another 60 temp day to test on.

Hmmm... I have the original 1st release smaller size Hustlers when they first came out. They seemed to flex distort when I used them, but it's been a long time since I ran my Sawback. I'll have to give it a drive and remember how it is. I'm using that so-called "2-stage foam" that they came with when they were first released. It was basically a normal outer foam, and a thin thicker solid foam insert that you place inside the outer foam. Not much of a 2 stage as the inner foam was really thin.

Yeah, as stated in my 1st post...i made everything the same as much as possible. The rigs are all the identical under carriages, equal weight with the exception of the bodies, same foams in all the tires and so on.
