I had vented tyres with a leather punch, and it was a mess. Always getting wet and muddy, they get wet hold water then absorb dust, that then turns to mud. For me and for play, I don't vent. If I ever was going to a comp, I'd consider it. But I've Never been to a comp, and Ive never regretted not punching a hole in my tyres
Just something to consider. I've also played with no foam and sealed tyres which also can be fun for mud and other soft surfaces...

Are you a retard, theres a million reasons some people dont vent their tires. (air filled aplication for snow, driving in mud, floating over water, no mess indoors, foams last longer, real 1:1 tires dont have holes...)

Its up to the individual user to decide that, not just based on your lazy outlook

Aha, sorry about the misunderstanding. If you want to glide on snow, float over water, not make a mess indoors, etc., sure, why vent the tires, indeed.

I was more thinking about the crawler side of the hobby, but never mind..

And regardless of how it's vented, if the foam is open cell and it gets wet it will NEVER dry out in there - it needs to be disassembled and dried out if it gets wet.

I've never had a toy tire split. EVER. If you turn one inside out that is slit and try to tear the hole larger you can't even do that. They're very tough.

I always use a leather punch. But I can't say tearing a tire is impossible, not even close. This happens a whole lot more commonly than I'd like.

If you get your foams wet then break them down and do proper maintenance and dry them out.

Real tires don't have foam in them, they have steel and/or fiberglass belting so they hold their shape under pressure too.

Your forgetting, the point is people deserve to choose, what they want to do.

If i got some new tires with vent holes, id throw them in the trash

If you bought tires and threw them in the trash you're dumber than I thought.

I don't care if tires come vented or not so it doesn't matter to me, I put holes in them because performance matters.

Don't do that! Rather give them to someone who's into crawling

This is Crawling, and Scaling.

If you really get into this hobby, you will have many wheels and tyres.
as you can no doubt tell, there is no right or wrong answer for this.

I'd say,
leave your current tyres as they are.

then if you want to experiment...

- if you expect to get regularly wet then get some XL 2.2 tyres, don't vent them (the extra size of the tyre has more air, which is very compressible so you will still conform to rocks)

- if you dont expect to get wet, get what ever you want, and vent away!
