| Ssd wheel mounting help
So I'm probably not doing this right but holy hell its kicking my ass. I just bought some 1.9 ssd white spoke wheel w/internal beadlock. Is there a specific way to mount them to make it easy cuz it's really kicking my ass and I'm about to give up haha thanks for any help on the stupid question Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

SSD wheels are among the easiest. For these stamped, steel wheels it's easiest to get one or two long screws, washers and nuts. I like to use one through the center to pinch the wheel together once the tire is on. But you can use two and put them through the other holes where the screws below. Which foams and tires are you using? Last edited by JatoTheRipper; 01-10-2019 at 04:36 PM. |

Hyrax and foams that come with them. I finally figured out that the ring where the screws go into was sitting to far down for the screws to grab so I stuck a small piece of cardboard opposite each other under to keep that ring up and that made a world of difference. Yeah, you have to press the wheel halves together enough to get the screws started. So far I've been able to do all mine by hand, but if you need a tool or longer screws or whatever to get them to compress, then that's what you do. Some can be really tight. |

I'm assuming you are assembling using the 6 screw in the wheel hub and not removing the scale hex head bolts on the front of the wheel? Using longer M2.5 x 12mm screws helps start the process easier. Then when the wheels halves are close together change them one by one to the shorter ones. |

If you have problems mounting up SSD wheels, the problem lies with the tire, not the wheel - that's for sure. I use two long mounting screws to get started, and insert the shorter screws when it's possible. A firm inner (C.I.) foam always makes it easier. Certain Proline tires can be a b*tch to mount on any wheel.. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |

Spray the beads with a bit of Windex when assembling. Helps everything slide together so much easier and the Windex will evaporate overnight. Helped a ton when assembling my TSL's on the 5 slot wheels.

We all have moments. I spent hours modifying a transmission to get an OD/UD setup only to realize I gave the rear axle overdrive instead of the front.

One plus is that you really should remove the little beadlock bolts to loctite them anyway (after that they can stay put).

Hey Casey, when I locktite all of those little screws I don't remove them, but back them off a little and then use a tooth pick and apply some Locktite to the holes, saves a little time and effort. And I removed all of them on my first set of SSDs. Ernie

Oh thats a good trick, I probably put too much effort into trying to get just enough loctite but not so much it spills out (I apply it then wipe off the excess).
