Default Compound? Material? What?

I would like to know what materials/ compound of rubber is in our normal crawling tire.

Basically, Im cutting my sidewalls off of some tires and would like to replace them with some rubber I can cut from sheet.

Sitting here and cutting all these sidewalls beads off in hopes of having enough sidewall for these oddball tires im making is getting ridiculous.

So the question is, which one of these rubbers is it?

EPDM
Neoprene
Nitrile
Silicone
Synthetic
Butyl?
some other rubber I don't know?

My super wheels are naked and need some rubber.

Head in the gutter yet?

You want a rubber that glue sticks to. It isn't like you're trying to weld aluminum to cast iron and the metals won't mix.

I'm more concerned with the elasticity difference. The wheels and knuckles I want to make for 2.2 and 1.9 would require cutting the bead completely off.. in turn would render the tire not legal because of "bead size". New sidewalls will have to be made or a small ring would have to be added to the tires.

What are you thinking for wheels that needs the beads removed and then replaced?
