| Traxxas canyon trail 1.9
Hey everyone, I’m pretty new to the rc crawling I was wondering if my stock TRX 4 sport tires would work on beadlock wheels (if I can remove them without damaging them).

They have a bead similar to the proline bead. They will work well on proline beadlocks for sure as well as traxxas beadlocks.

I'm running the Canyon Trails on VP Method 105 bead locks and they work great non-vented! Last edited by Inspector86; 04-23-2019 at 08:15 PM. |

Just cook your stock wheels and tires roughly about 10 minute then you can pull out the tires easily without damaging the bead. Cheers

Thanks for the help guys. So they should be ok on a set of ssd wheels?I also just thought of another question what’s the best way to get the water out of my tires? I know I can squeeze Any other ways? Or just air dry.

I tried to get my Canyon Trails on a set of SSD wheels and it didn't go well. I bought a set of their older stamped steel wheels. When it came time to pull the two halves together with the six screws it got to the point where the wheel was deforming and, for fear of damaging the tire bead, I wasn't comfortable going any further. So, they never got installed. I put on a set of el-cheapo plastic Pro-Lines and they fit like a glove. I just bought another set of the newer, "easy to mount" SSD wheels and will try to mount the Canyon Trails again. BTW, the Canyon Trail tires are excellent!

I have SSD D hole beadlocks. My canyon trails went on without much of a problem. Might want to vent them before you put them on the beadlocks. Otherwise your tires will look like this about 10 mins into your run. You could vent the rims if you'd like, but getting the water out is much easier if you vent the tires. I also suggest some good dual stage foams while you have them off the rim. Good foams are life changing. Good luck! |

I am currently running the Canyon Trails on a set of VP Method Roost. They were very easy to mount and I have had zero problems with them. I am still using the stock foams and I do not vent. These tires work extremely well. |

Thanks for all the feed back guys! So how do I go about venting my tires? I’d rather not vent the wheels since they cost a Decent amount.

If you use the soldering iron make sure you remove the foams first. https://www.harborfreight.com/leathe...ool-97715.html | ||

How many holes? And where should I put them in the tread?

Don't vent your tires just becasue someone tells you they did. Try unvented wheels and tires first for yourself and see how they work for you. Once you vent the tires it is hard to reverse the damage. I do not vent tires and have no issues what so ever and I don't worry about water intrusion into the foam.

How do you keep them from doing what my tires are doing since they are not vented? Mine turn into block tires (pic above) after 10 mins of crawling.

The pic above of my Canyon Trails was taken about an hour into a rock crawling session and they are by no means block shaped. My point to the OP was simply, don't vent becasue someone tells you to, vent becasue you need to as a last resort. Here is a different set of my non-vented tires. I definitely understand where you were going with that. The air goes out of mine quick but takes a few hours to fill back up. Guess I need to look into where the air is getting out. I don't go through much water so venting isn't a big deal to me but if I can get it right without venting I rather not
