| Cut pit bull growlers
I have a set of 1.55 growlers that are leaving me wanting more in the traction department. They’re glued on a set of gear head aluminum slot wheels so I’d like to try to cut them for more performance if possible first. Anyone trimmed the lugs in a way that they think helped? They seem to not have great rock traction is what I’m having issues with. Post up pics of yours if you’ve cut them. Thanks! Ben |

I got two cut today. Took animals idea and put my own spin on it for now anyway. I’ve always liked the look of the Goodyear MT/R’s with the asymmetrical tread pattern so I put that spin on these. No idea how they work yet but hoping not worse than stock lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Cutting my 1.9 Growlers really woke them up... I did a similar cut. I found Growlers do not like to spin, as soon as they loose traction you are not going anywhere. However don't loose traction, and they have good grip. |

Glad I could lend a hand! I'm debating on throwing mine on the Trx for the TTC event that's coming up. Since they clean out so much better then the Hyrax. I know that event will be mud, rocks, sand and who knows what else. Cutting them made a world of difference. Good luck! Let us know what you think. |

Makes me want to cut the Growlers on my 6x6. Hippie, were those Growlers Alien or Komp compound? |

I went chevron pattern. Almost want to try dremeling the cut lugs smoother. And questioning myself if I should have staggered the treads... |

I am VERY disappointed with these Growlers (Alien) Spent a BUNCH of money on them and they do not work on slick, dry rock like I hoped. Now I gotta cut them up to make them perform?! Bummer. They are on my Redcat Gen8 1.9 steel white spoke wheels with 2 oz of weight added to the fronts. They slip on any smooth rock that is uphill, side slide down hill with controlled braking and dirt? forgetaboutit. I sure hope cutting gets me something out of them or else they just get parked and unused.... |
