I'm excited about these, but also hesitant. They look very similar to wheels that have been done and they also look like they don't have as many details and depth ad modern, aluminum RC wheels. I do like the style though. I also hope they are beadlocks.

if they follow proline wheels of past, they will outprice themselves. When get a set of wheels for twice a set of locked up or the like.

Great point.

Agreed on the pricing. But that picture does look good.

Too much bling!

They look very much like high-polish copies of the Gear Head RC 2.2" CAC EZ-Loc beadlock wheel, which has been out for ages - I have a set with black Delrin centers:

These would have to be around $150 or they're just fanboy pricing only. Last time the Pro-Forge wheels were announced I think they were even more expensive than Vanquish wheels before Vanquish lowered their pricing.

What I prefer (besides the satin finish) of the Gearheads is that they've got reversible centers, which allow you to adjust offset even with only one set of hubs - kinda changes the look a bit, too - oh, and you can get all-black Delrin wheels, or just buy the Delrin rings to change up the look - available in 1.9", too:

Yes, that's why I never bought the set that I was going to. :ror:

Except more purty than GearHead's version.

Great points and nice features of the Gearheads, but they tend to be overly heavy especially for 2019. :)

Pretty, but I don't care. I would rather buy 3 or 4 sets of cheaper wheels and be less worried about them losing their shine. I have a set of Gearhead Trail Kings on my origianal Ascender. Very nice for the price.

The word 'billet' is so overused in marketing. PL has wheels that are CNC'd from a solid chunk of aluminum, BFD !

I prefer to put jewelry on my girlfriend instead of my RCs.

Re: Billet is better? PROLINE RACING

Knowing proline those will be $200+ a set. My wheel budget is $25 a set so that's just a bit over what I'm willing to pay.

Do not, i repeat, do not quote me on the price, roughly 55 bucks for 2.

Thank you for saying so! I hate marketing bs like that.

Military grade steel!
Aircraft grade aluminum!

BS!!

Re: Billet is better? PROLINE RACING

So, they are Billet - yet composite?

I'm not a fan of the style, so am not in the market for them - but I am curious as to the construction of these wheels.

Chromed plastic (nylon, Delrin) centers, maybe?
