Do you have any new tires sitting around?

If so, go run them under some water. New tires usually still have mold release on them that prevents the water from coating the rubber.

Again, those tires didn’t look wet, they had a sheen like they were coated in cooking spray.

Mine aren't shiny, and I haven't done any Purple Power or Simple Green soak with the first set.

However, I haven't driven them yet!

My second set may get thrown in a hot bucket soak with one of the aforementioned cleansers as an experiment.

I will say, they feel about the same as my new Enduro General Grabbers - but they smell exactly like real 1:1 rubber - I know, because I just got my tires balanced at Discount Tire the other day and I had to sit in there for an hour, huffing fumes - and I was perfectly content!

My first set is mounted on my Enduro which is up on a CI Cell Block on top of my left computer speaker, not 2 feet from my nose - and the odor has dissipated, can't smell them anymore.

Gonna hafta get the 2nd set outta the bag and take a snort just to get my head straight...........

Hell, if ya want my 2nd set that I bought by accident...

I'm too much of a tire freak to want to use the exact same tire on 2 rigs at the same time!

(I need to justify picking up some Patagonias in the 4.7" size later)

Something I've noticed is the Chinese copies of the other tires, like hyrax, swampers, dick cepek, etc, the chinesium ones are all grippier but shred super quick.

So on that thought alone, perhaps u could be correct in a biased review. But I really don't want to believe they've cheated them out of a true test.

I don’t think the NottSix ChooDoo tires are copies.

I think Injora made the mold for these tires and Matt didn’t pay for it.

You haven’t been able to get these tires from VooDoo in nearly 2 years?

I think Injora finally got tired of trying to get paid for this mold and is just recouping their loss.

I’ve owned a couple different Austar/Injora clone tires. They didn’t go to the trouble of copying the tires exactly.

They just copied the tread.

Why would Injora copy every single tiny detail of the VooDoo tire’s sidewall including the logos??

🤣

The one that says basically what I did.

So, again. What the opposing view point?

That Injora copied a tire that hasn’t been available for well over a year (for some strange reason) and copied it exactly as opposed to how they did on all of the other tires they’ve made?

A random dude saying he is from injora means jack squat. Here is a pro tip, injora never made ottsix tires. They are made by traction hobbies. Could injora have came across the mold or at least files for them, absolutely but I have serious reservations that they are the same rubber. As much as it pains me to do so i have to give it to ottsix's rubber. It is good stuff and I know it took a lot of r & d to get it as good as it is. Having a company make a mold and then specifying a rubber type will NOT get you the results you seek on the first, second or 5th try.

They could have the best rubber compound ever made, I still wouldn’t buy it as the owner is prick.

My apologies, sometimes things are lost in translation on the ol’ intrawebs.

Just an observation regarding the proper voodoo versions.

I can't get my head around how a tire can be that good and grippy, yet they get shredded up so quick from people obviously spinning them (ie lack of grip) so how does that work?

The pitbull growlers I had (1.55) worked better as you spun them, I guess hot n soft but even despite purposely spinning them, they weren't half as worn as so many of these ottsix tires I see that are shredded within a few packs.

I have a set of KLR A/T Reds and the Choodoos. The genuine compound feels very different to the choodoo.

No argument there. He's a marketing wanker that believes his own bullshit. The tires are pretty decent though.

Some rock requires a different compound to work properly. All too often people buy red or gold (softest compounds) and then destroy them in 100* heat. Soft compounds typically work best in cooler temps and in hotter weather they just fold up and spin into oblivion. A hard compound will soften in the heat and come alive but internet experts scream how awesome soft tires are and dumb people listen.

Yeh fair enough. Makes sense to me.

I'm a scale guy not a comp guy but I do like to have a tire that works.

I've ran China tires and while they're not often terrible, they're also far from good.

IMHO axial r35 and pitbulls rubber is where it's at.

its all chinese so i dont think it matters who makes it or who sells it its all owned by the goverment anyway the mold could be being passed around like old sailboat molds

Hmm, but that would require me having a complete working rig!!! Of which I have none!

Plus, mine are A/T and choodoo are MT/X...so not really an apples apples comparison.
