1.9 vs 2.2

I live in a place surrounded by mountains. Most places I crawl are loose rock pretty big in size. Would 2.2 or 1.9 be better? I currently have both I just need to know which would fit my situation.

Do you have em both mounted? Maybe take em both out for a rip with ya, easy swap at that point.

I have a set of 2.2s I used for one run last winter, just not my thing personally, I run trail trucks exclusively though.

I only have one truck though. I have a trx4 with a lift.

2.2" wheeled tires are generally taller than 1.9" wheeled tires. There are exceptions in the Rc world of course, the Proline bogger being the most obvious. That said a taller tire will roll over a obstacle easier than a shorter one. It also gives you more diff clearance and better approach and departure angles. The downside is the higher cg, clearence issues with turning and suspension.

My 1.9" boggers on my Bronco.

And 2.2 Tsl's on the same truck.

It is actually a original scx10 with 10II axles...

The tires lift everything higher, all the weight of the chassis, axles, and body are higher with the taller tires.

CG center of gravity the higher the cg the more prone to rolling

What's the best way to add weight to the front? I'm planning on adding a winch with a battery, is that enough or is there better suggestions?

Re: 1.9 vs 2.2

There are so many sizes of 1.9 and 2.2 tires available today you can get some 2.2s that are actually smaller OD than the largest OD 1.9s. Generally, 2.2s are wider than 1.9s if you're looking for a wide tire. If you're looking for performance rather looks, the choice is based on what seems to work best in the areas you crawl/trail at.

As example, looking at lonelycreeper's SCX10 pictures, it would be hard to tell from the pics the 2 tires are different.

https://scaleoffroading.com/scale-tire-finder - This can help you get a sense of how big your current tires are, vs various 2.2s

The mentioned boggers are: Height: 5.4" - which is nearly as big as a lot of 2.2s, and bigger than some

Knuckle weights/brass knuckles are one of the best options, along with axle tubes for plastic axles.

Personally I find 1.9 tires more fun on my scx10. Simply because it's easier to find challenging obstacles.. more to choose from. Also because of the centre of gravity.

What I meant was, since you have a set of 1.9 and a set of 2.2, if they are both mounted on rims, just take both sets with you and swap em as you're playing, see which you like best.
