Default Hexes?

Could someone explain the difference in the hexes for crawlers. Im wanting to swap the stock plastic ones on my Element but see several sizes and Im confused. Is the difference simply in the thickness? What doesnt work? Thanks.

The Element has pretty standard axles, but I went with the ones from Element themselves:

The thicker hex can help if your rims need a bit more offset to clear the knuckles or you just want it a bit wider.

I did notice that I have a lot of extra axle thread on my Sendero using RC4WD steelie spokers, enough to thread a second axle nut on top of the first one - no more loose axle nuts!

I have done that myself...lol
I prefer not to go wider if I can help it.less stress on the axle stubs
