Default Hmmm... Plastic beadlocks(?)

So, the JConcepts Colt 1.9 beadlocks finally are being released - great price, include nice center caps - but are made out of plastic. Not designed to where you could throw metal hubs on them, either. So far only available in black. Gotta say I'm worried about hub strength on these.

However, Element RC has released the long hinted-at "The Ocho" 1.9 beadlocks, and while they are also plastic (and come with center caps) - you can use the Factory Team aluminum hex adapters or the FT brass versions to beef up the wheel and/or add a bit of weight. The Ocho design is available in silver or black. IMHO, with metal hubs these could be a good performance choice in some situations.

I have no interest in plastic wheels and I think most scalers agree. I wish JConcepts would have released those wheels in aluminum or at least stamped steel because the look awesome. 8 lugs is way too many for the average trail truck though.

The Element wheels are very generic.

RC4WD already sells wagon wheel steelies that look almost the same as those JConcepts wheels, though they are a 5 and 6 lug design. Black, white & chrome available. I have the 1.5s in chrome for my Fall Guy build.

Some of the comp guys around here run plastic or lightweight CF wheels and seem to do well with them. I’ve never tried it myself but may give it a shot when I eventually get around to a GC4 build.

The Element wheels I’m fairly certain are SLW pattern so there are quite a few options for hubs, including vanquish, incision, ssd, and others.

Yeah the deep dish steelies are even closer. This photo was too small to see anything for me.

I thought there was a Chinese brand that had even more similar steelies.

Yep, the comp guys like the light, plastic wheels.

I just fixed the photo. I got pulled away before I could fix it, but now it's nice and big.
