Proline shows these tires back in stock again. For those of you that were able to snag a set from the first go round, let's hear some feedback! I'm going to buy a set anyway, but I'd like to hear how they compare to Bully pins (which I've run) and Voodoo pins (which I have no experience with, but they seam to be the bar by which others are measured), both in performance and actual dimensions.

Real comp crawling is still alive and well. Gaylers are getting comp guys from years past back into rc with their kids and once they get bored playing with dolls they get back into comps again. I've seen it a whole bunch in the last few years.

Narrow 5.5 Ci foams with medium front and firm rear feel the best for me so far. I was getting too much bounce with the 6.0 inners.

.750" but I've been meaning to try .875". Del Monte said they feel really good with a little wider rim.

Definately a comp tire. ABOUT TIME. It's getting so hard to find a good set of comp tires. I have a set of narrowed Voodoos and these are the same height and width. Just wondering if anybody tried any patterns trimming the pins? I bought a set last Tues at RCMadness and not sure about foams yet either. I may try a CI set or just for kicks maybe a set of 2 stage from Pit Bull. I have a couple sets of those kicking around I may modify to fit.

CI has been running five sets of Ibex tires, all set up the same way, for several months now, as listed below. They have not been off the crawlers since being installed. I am very impressed and pleased with the performance of this combo. Plenty of attendees at Activated Outlaw Get Togethers have driven these on the comp capra build using the High Altitude Performance chassis. One comp we had, no less than five drivers shared the same rig, all were impressed with the rig and wheel/foam/tire package. Tire sets that I have years of experience with, have been set aside in favor of these. The Ibex is a good size, smaller in height and width than a voodoo pin; the Ibex has a quality rubber compound, and these are currently the only tire being used on our competition crawlers.


2.2 Proline Ibex tires
C.I. 1" Width 6 Bolt Wheels (CWR-5024 orange; or CWR-5003 black; still the lightest weight and most durable comp crawler wheel available)
C.I. Double Deuce Triple Stage Foams
