With most things crawling related there are seldom "best's" as everyone has their own preferences and different terrains they run. Theres a ton of great options though.

these are my favorites (not in any order)
Proline TSL's (in the 4.3" size non XL)
Proline Krawler T/A's (4.75")
Pit Bull Rock Beasts (4.45" non XL)

Also consider tire size if thats important to you. I'd start with the size and then look at your options available in that size.

EDIT: I prefer the G8 compound with Proline tires

Personally for me I like the rc4wd Goodyear wrangler mtr’s. I bought a set in 4.19 for a tiny tire event my local club was running. I had all intentions of selling them when it was over, but they performed so well that I kept them. I like them so much I put the 4.75 version on my Capra and those also work really well.

Like Humboldt said, No one tire is the best.

Opinions are strong around here and many differ.

Top contenders are Proline, Pitbull, and Rc4wd. There are other good tires, but not in the best category.

g8 compound from Proline, 3x2s compound from rc4wd, and Pitbull Alien compound.

As I stated earlier my personal preferance is Proline g8 Tsl's. I have both the monstrous 5.4" Boggers, and 4.3" Tsl's. Their performance is incredible, however some tires beat them on pure rock, but not mud or sand.

Pitbull rock beasts are rock beasts. They are hard to beat on rock, but load up and loose traction in sand and mud.

Rc4wd Goodyear Mtr's are also very good tires. They keep up and maybe beat the small Tsl's in mud, do incredible on rock, until things get hot, then they get "greasy". The Mtr's dig holes in sand and mud more than the Tsl's. The Tsl's always seem to move forward rather than dig to China.

I have not driven Proline Crawlers, but I did use flatirons back in the day. I hear really good things about them.... but no personal experience.

My experience has only been with 1.9 x 4.75" tires.
Loved my Hirax tires but they were mostly good for rocks. Sand, loose dirt or mud not so much but they still worked OK. Between the softer compound and more delicate tread pattern those wore out fairly quick.
Now I'm running predator krawler T/As and so far they seem to climb the rocks as good as the Hirax tires and perform better in the loose stuff too. We will see how they hold up over time.

Pitbull Tires are the best performing and scale replicated tires (IMO).

RC4WD Goodyear Wrangler Adventures.

I'm sure some good CI foams would improve their one weakness (folding over under heavy load). They're super scale and sticky and somehow manage to grip even better when wet???

I'm not an expert though... lol just really like them

Thanks guys! Sounds like the Goodyear MTR’s are a clear favorite as far as replicas go so far. I was hoping to find some Maxxis Bighorns but they are not produced. I ended up with proline’s BFG KM3 because they had them locally, I love how they look, and they suit my terrain needs. Haven’t tested them out yet but super stoked. Matched them with some g-made’s.

On my current rig I have Proline Krawler T/A, and for my use I'm very happy.
I run on rocks and trails mostly which is usually hard packed soil.

In my experience on the terrain i run, the RC4WD Goodyear MT/R's are my favorite and run through just about anything i put them through well, but to be honest the proline TSL and also PB Rock Beasts have been excellent too.

Pitbull Rock Beasts have been the best performing scale and 1:1 tires we have run for may years now at CI.

We heard ya the first time, just half a dozen posts ago.....

I'm still in process of my build, but I have high hopes for the new RC4WD Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X in their newest stickiest compound, in the new 4.75" OD size that are shipping out my way.

I can say that the rc4wd Goodyear duratracs do not hold up in the rocks at all.. picked these up second hand with very little use. Have put 3 runs on them, the last one being in some river rock yesterday and they’re junk. 3/4 have cuts in the sidewall and have great tread left.

I've converter everyone around here to proline predator in whatever style bfg or tsl they want. The compound is magic on our granite and can't be touched by any other. I've pulled my well worn krawlers off my capra several times to let someone try them and whatever they're running gets some and replaced in a hurry. Usually it's pitbulls that get tossed since that's what hobby town stocks the most of.

Lmao, Hobby town still exists? All except one died off in Indiana, and it’s way up north lol. It was sad because the one that was like 2 mins away from my house was the first to go. They had some good stuff at decent price. I’m glad there was another LHS close by!

I really miss having local hobby shops. There are no hobby shops here.
