Default Vanquish Beadlocks No longer full metal?

Are Vanquish beadlocks no longer full metal? I was looking at some method 105s, and one of the reviews said that they switched to a "lighteweight" moulded internal clamp ring. I'm just about to get some for one of my builds, but if they're not full metal.....

I'm no massive Vanquish fanboy (I do have a few Bomber bits here and there, and a set of older Incision 2.2 wheels) but them deciding to do this is really no big deal.

Witness SSD's Pro-line compatibility rings, made out of blue Delrin - people have been using these for ages:

They should be plenty strong enough for this application.

It's just that it seems like its kind of a small ripoff, it's just you're paying the price for full metal wheels, yet you're getting a plastic part. I would be fine with plastic rings, if they at least lowered the price. The only reason why I want the vanquish ones is because of the Method design/branding.

They have lowered the price significantly from several years ago. Vanquish wheels used to be $85/pair and they weren’t even a detailed as the current versions.

If you really want Methods with an aluminum ring, the 101s (besides the bronze) still come with them for now.

Are the aluminum inner rings not available separately any more?
I bought some a couple years ago to replace some destroyed plastic ones in a TTC rig.

Are you sure the source of this info was referring to VP Method wheels and not the knock off China wheels? Maybe Josh will chime in here and clear this up.

A quick trip to the actual Vanquish website shows answers to both of these things...

Aluminum rings here:

https://www.vanquishproducts.com/1-9-wheel-clamp-ring/

Depending on which Vanquish wheel you select (most newer releases list this) it states in the description:

Includes the following:

2pcs Method 1.9 310 Wheel Face
2pcs Aluminum Rear Beadlock Rings
2pcs Lightweight Molded Internal clamping ring
2pcs Outside Beadlock ring
74pcs 1-64 SHCS
21pcs 4-40 SHCS

The others (mostly older releases) state the following:

Includes the following:

2pcs Method 1.9 101 Wheel Face (V2)
2pcs Aluminum Rear Beadlock Rings
2pcs Aluminum Internal clamping ring
2pcs Outside Beadlock ring
74pcs 1-64 SHCS
21pcs 4-40 SHCS

And the pic of the molded ring looks like this:

After looking at VP's web site apparently they are switching to a molded can. I'm guessing it's a cost saving move as it would only marginally reduce weight. On ebay, I see brass replacement cans if one wants to add weight to their wheels.
