| List of 1.9" Tires with Dimensions
I have been wrestling with tire sizes on both of my trucks (TRX4 has some Flat Irons that are just a bit too big for the wheel offset / bumper setup I've chosen and Enduro / LC70 body has some relatively small wheel openings and I'm trying to get it good and low) - I've found myself looking at tires a lot. Now this is part of my enjoyment of this hobby, but sometimes I get frustrated when I can't remember which tires had which dimensions. So today while I was watching Guardians of the Galaxy with the kid, I decided to make a little spreadsheet with all of the 1.9 tires I could find. I included both OD and width. I also calculated what I'd consider the maximum dimension of the furthest reach of the tire (basically the hypotenuse or diagonal of the shadow thrown by the tire). I added this last one because I have different tires that, because they're wider, have larger arcs when steering. I realize the width isn't always at the OD, and that they all have different shapes, but I added it as a conservative worst case scenario - it's basically corner to corner. Once I was done I thought the table might come in handy for someone else who might be looking, so I'll put it up here. The table is too big for one post, so I'll break it up into groupings that seem to suit the kinds of situations I've found myself in. If anybody wants to see it rearranged, let me know. Also - if I've missed any, please let me know and I can add them. I hope this is helpful. |

Cool. I'm most interested in tires in the 4.3-4.5" range right now, so it's good to see an updated list. Previous searches turned up some fairly old results. No doubt, it's hard to be 100% complete, and it would be a pain to constantly update the list, but if somebody bothers to go through the trouble, it seems reasonable to share it. |

That's exactly where I'm at and what started this - I wanted something in that "mid-sized" range. I didn't know about the tire search website. That's really nice. As far as reviews of all of the tires goes, that's a humongous topic - way too big for me to handle. I figure I'll keep updating it as long as I can, maybe once a week or so. If I and everybody else lose interest, then it dies. If it helped a couple of folks out, no harm in that I guess.

Very nice list, I appreciate you taking the time to do. It should be helpful to plenty of people, even if it doesn't get updated.

Thanks for putting this together, very helpful. I'm more interested in width than height so nice to be able to scan down the list for 1.8's or wider without having to go to 10 websites. I think reviewing tires would be really subjective/not as helpful as it sounds for this step of the process considering foam combinations and conditions are such a big part of performance. I mean the choices are kind of narrowed down once you decide what degree of scale you are looking for (licensed, scale looking, not scale/no preference, or anything goes) and compound (sticky?). That decision tree starts to limit your choices at a certain point. Guys wanting a 4.2" tire are not going to care how well a 4.75 BF Goodrich Krawler performs with Lil Novas, in July, on granite, on a 7.5lb rig, with a semi-droop suspension...lol |

Yeah, I debated getting into a whole whine-fest about my disappointment with the complete lack of useful, quantitative, unbiased reviews of so many of the hobby things I enjoy, but I think we're all surrounded by enough negativity - this is one place where I'm committed to trying to only contribute positively . There's a never-ending stream of opinions and almost no (usually literally zero) actual empirical evidence. I know why there is isn't - It's super hard to do, it would be expensive, there would always be folks who argue with method and accuse bias, and frankly, there's no money in it. As someone who spent more than a decade as a test engineer for big complicated military things, I'm super familiar with how difficult it can be to get useful test results. I can't get it out of my head that there are some good repeatable tests we could all do, but the number of variables and product options make the scale of stuff like that prohibitively large. I guess I whined a bit after all, sorry

One other thing, after I posted I remembered BoomRacing - they have some pretty cool looking tires in a good range of sizes. I've added them to my spreadsheet and I'll be updating here soon. One other plus for this activity, I'm getting to learn a little bit about html table formatting |

Got a Capra lst week. My first 1.9 crawler and looking for taller tires. Local guy had a set of Voodoo KLR and Hyrax. He said the Voodoo was taller than Hyrax. Contrary to specs above. **Ooops. It was the Voodoo X4 in comparison. So the specs are correct on that! Last edited by Bansh88; 02-21-2021 at 11:01 AM. |

Thanks! I have to admit, I didn't know about that site until Ferp mentioned it above, and if I had I probably wouldn't have bothered. But, it's here now so I'll try to keep it up to date.
