Tire fix?

Got a small puncture on the side wall. Flipped tire is inside out and shoo gooed a thick piece of plastic bag over it. This should hold right? Anybody fix ripped/ punctured tires like this?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...922585c575.jpg

Yea I've ripped a pile of tires. Just clean the surfaces where the rubber meets with acetone and glue it back together with AKA or losi tire glue.

I've done that same thing but I use bicycle inner tube for the patch. Plastic bag is a interesting idea and I'm betting it'll work pretty well..

You can also put some CA glue on the exterior side of the tear to add some strength to the repair.

Yeah, as the others have stated, CA glue works wonders at fixing tires.

I blew up a tire on an 1:8 truggy from excessive RPM. I glued it back together with CA glue and it was stronger than it was originally.

There's a special rubberized CA glue that works great for fixing up R/C tires. It remains semi flexible so you dont make hard spots in the sidewall. Also slick when doing cut'n'shuts.

Re: Tire fix?

On our 2.2 comp tires we shave the side wall to get better flex. They also tear way easier. We just use Bob Smith tire glue to glue the tear back together. Nothing else needed. We will also cut sections out of the tire to make them narrower than stock and glue the 2 halves back together. These cut, narrowed tires hold up to pretty bad abuse and stay together. I don't know if there is another company out there that makes black super glue. It has rubber dust in it to keep it flexible, just shake and use. I always carry some in my pit/trail bag. It will also glue tires to rims in a pinch, although I like a thinner CA for that. (CA= cyano acrylate aka super glue) good luck
