Softer tires?

I’m reading WD40 softens tires, has anyone tried it? I have an older set on my Wraith that could used some help, seems to have gotten harder with age. I would have thought it would make them to slick

I would start by cleaning them with simple green.
The no prep drag guys do this, and it’s a different tire.

Bigger issue will be those foams, they dry out and turn to dust
