Injora 114mm 1.9 Rock Crawler Tire Review Latest update on tire testing: https://www.mojavevalleyrcadventures...k-crawler.html https://i.imgur.com/0aR2YEwl.jpg |
Re: Injora 114mm 1.9 Rock Crawler Tire Review Very cool, informative and a worthwhile read! "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup" You have a great base and have done your best to create an even playing field for the test. I know it would come down to cost but there are always ever so slight differences in wheel designs, weights etc. and using the exact same wheels would negate any bias and take the cake in terms of tyre reviews! Now that you have set a high standard and a great base it would be absolutely valuable to many if you could introduce more tyre models and brands. If I was a brand manager I would definitely supply you with the various compounds to add to the list. |
Re: Injora 114mm 1.9 Rock Crawler Tire Review Great picture! The tires look more like for a tiny U4 rig,not for a crawler . |
Re: Injora 114mm 1.9 Rock Crawler Tire Review Thanks guys.! Identical wheels are doable and something I will look into for the next side by side comparison. The tires do look more suited for go-fast platforms, and I will most likely run them on a Baja Rey at some point. For crawling, they pretty much stink. s |
Re: Injora 114mm 1.9 Rock Crawler Tire Review i have a set of those inside my redcat gen8 tires that are now on my baja 1000 ford raptor tribute truck if you dont feel like going through the long breakin process you can use them inplace of tire foams they would work best in a 4.75 od tire |
Re: Injora 114mm 1.9 Rock Crawler Tire Review Great piece you put together Steve. Love the photos and video clips, you clearly know how to frame your subject. Have you actually found any cheap tires yet that have a rubber compound competitive to some of the premier brands? Those tires have a great look, as you guys have already discussed. I too would not hesitate to throw those on a low traction U4 rig |
Re: Injora 114mm 1.9 Rock Crawler Tire Review Smog, Many thanks for the good words. Believe it or not, I have about 70 sets of tires for 1.9, 2.2, and 2.2/3.0 sitting here waiting for a review. Trick is making time to get to them! Nothing in budget line of testing is blowing up my skirt yet, but I do have a few promising tires in the bunch. I will say that it's hard to go cheap on tires when there is so much investment in the truck itself. A bad tire ruins the performance, where as a good tire makes it shine. I am working on the JConcepts Rupture tire review for my 1.9, and it's so impressive that I really don't want to take them off. They can be tricky to find, but they are not too expensive. I have more review on the way and I'll try to sort them to get a few more budget tires in the mix that are pretty good on the trail. Here is my worm with the Ruptures. I can pull crazy lines with these. https://i.imgur.com/l5KIzRKl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/WRIPoCyl.jpg These photos are from Kong trail here in Vegas; a nutty short little technical loop. Thanks again for the support! |

Re: Injora 114mm 1.9 Rock Crawler Tire Review those ruptures are mind blowing for sure the most grip ive ever had from a rc tire oddly enuff i only have them on 1 rig they just dont have the look i want for my scalers the thing i found with chinese brand tires is they work great for a run or 2 till.the outer rubber layer wares off then they absolutly suck for a long time then once there almost toast they somehow start to grip i was trying to distroy a set of chiwampers and by the time i changed them out they were griping better than the pitbull tires i replaced them with were i live any tire will work there isent much differance between high end tires and cheapies but the ruptures weather it is minisota winter with frozen snow or muddy rocky river banks in oregon to the sandy sandstone on the beaches of san fransico or the polished smooth granit of yosemity or cheater rocks of johnson valley the ruptures work great by far the best all around tire i have ever used if the ruptures were more scale i would have them on every rig i own i havent tryed any of there other tires though someday ill try them out but there a odd size too so thats part of it |
