I've never modified these tires myself but here's my suggestions, see picture below.

Cut approximately along the blue line first, leaving the writing intact.

Then cut out a couple lugs where the red lines are and glue the tread portion back together.

Finally, cut approximately along the green line so the sidewall fits inside the now smaller tire.

This way you will lose a bit of the sidewall lugs but the writing on the sidewall will stay intact. As I noted earlier, this is an approximate estimate as I've never modded these tires. It may take some experimenting but this will get you on the right track.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.....

seems like a lot of work and potential for tire failure just to get a little bit different look out of the tire. Are you doing it strictly for look, or are you doing it also to try to increase sidehill performance and stability and slightly increase wheel speed? If its for the last two things, you can tweak different foams for sidehill prowess, and you know what they say in the real world of rock crawling; "bigger tires make smaller rocks!!" Anyway, post pics if you do it so we can see how they turn out. good luck.

You could remove two sets of lugs and then stretch them over the 2.2 wheel. Your glue joints better be pretty strong though. What height are you trying to get them down to?

If he was trying to get more wheels speed he would have to make them larger not smaller... just saying... but dor side hilling. Foam tuning can do wonders for these tires.
I say go for it. Its all about individuality.
