Default Hyrax 1.9 tires(120mm) What width wheels?

So I am planning to run Hyrax 1.9(120mm) I would like to optimize the tire's contact pressure... I and heard that running a skinny wheel is how you accomplish this... BUT what width would you run on a 45mm wide tire? 25mm? 30mm? 35mm? Also would running a skinny wheel cause any side hill issues

I have a set of hyrax's on ssd double time beadlocks 22mm width, seems to me like it has a good contact patch with crawler innovations comp cut foams and soft outers.
One thing to remember if you go to 25mm wide rims or wider you'll run into the issue of foams sliding around on the rims if you dont use specific wider foams or tuning disk's.
I use 4 pieces of double sided tape to keep them in place, works most of the time.
C.I. makes tuning disks to help with it also. I ussaully just make my own out of 1/8 or 1/4 open cell foam or double side tape them, just depends on what you plan on using the truck for and how heavy it is.

As long as your foam setup is good you shouldnt really have any issue with side hilling however if your foams slide around the tire is going to fold over on the side wall bad.

I personally wouldnt ever run wheels wider than 25mm unless it was hawaiian style truck.

I just prefer 22mm wide wheels so i dont have to mess around with making tuning disks or double sided tape, i do have afew sets of 25mm wheels though and once dialed in their fine just abit more fiddly.
It also feels like a narrow wheel will widen the tire contact patch out when climbing ledges. I could be wrong though.
Also less rotating mass is always a good thing.

Its just a prefence thing is all.
