Default Back in time with some 5" Rock Claws

With this bod 4.75's seem a little too small and 5.4's a little too big. These were championship worthy tires at one time so they will work fine for me in the backyard

I've never run those tires on anything and tbh I don't remember them but man... I really like the nice amount of space between lugs and also that the larger lugs have that "cut out"... not solid. Looks like a great tire for rock or trail.

I remember those, shocked they died out. Slight change and updated compound I bet they'd hold their own just fine today.

I know most people here aren't concerned with this aspect (I don't comp myself, but I personally prefer a scale-appearing tire) but they are still the first tire mentioned on the SORRCA list of banned tires:

"Tire Ban List: • Losi Claws (all sizes, and types) • Hot Bodies Rovers (all sizes) • Hot Bodies Sedonas • HPI Rock Grabbers • Panther Cougars • Panther Leopards • Pro-Line Chisels (all sizes) • RC4WD Rocklin • RC4WD X-Locks (all sizes) • RC4WD Crazy Crawlers • Imex Skulls and Bones • Losi Bashers."

Also, Losi pretty much got out of the crawling game except for the Night Crawler - which currently comes with TSL Swampers left over from the Vaterra Ascender line. The Team Losi Racing Comp Crawler came with the Claws, which were National Champion winners in the old USRCCA days.

Nowadays Losi does the go-fast stuff, Vaterra is dead and gone, and Axial gets all the crawler glory - all under the Horizon Hobby banner - and Pro-line got snatched up, too!

If you really want to go old school, Losi Rock Carvers...Modeled after Pitbull XOR tires before they jumped into RC with their own tires.

Thanks for sharing this I wasn’t aware of these tires. I’ve ordered a set to try on my Capra!

Where did you find them? I thought they were discontinued.

Long discontinued, they pop up on Ebay from time to time. There's a nice set on there now on BL wheels for $40.

I think they were mostly used around 2010.
When I purchased my LCC in 2012 they were out of fashion.

I still use them though, but modded for winter use:

Comp claws! I just found a set in my tire box I might mount up. Same as rock claws just a little bigger.
