I spent $42 shipped for a set of 35mm wheels and the knock off pit bulls and those tires are on another level of soft that I've ever felt. Near silicone like.

I think options are good. I have Vanquish 1.9, "Chanquish" 1.9, SSD 2.2, 2.2 Punks 3D Carbon Fiber, 1.9 Inverse Carbon Fiber, RC4WD, 1.9 Treal, 1.0 Treal, no name amazon, and others.

Most have been very easy to put together and I haven't had issues with screws stripping on any of these at this time.

Know the tires are going to suck. I have a set of the same knock offs in 1.9 and they were crap. Two tires sidewall ripped first time out too. Fine for a cheap trail rig IMO, but actual rock crawling no.

My LCG Cheater build with these tires had to throttle up everything if it even could make it. Swapped over to my friends JConcepts Ruptures and slow crawled up the lines I was previously only able to full throttle up with the bootlegs.

My consensus is cheaper wheels probably OK, but for actual rock crawling and grip, I want the real tires in quality compounds.

I've stumbled upon 2.2 Method Roost knockoffs on Amazon and bought them. I've always liked the Roost from Vanquish but unfortunately can't afford them. I can't also afford a Ferrari so it is fine. The knockoffs are well finished but the beadlock system is not solid like on the VPs...They rely on a inner ring held by M2 screws. The central ring is pretty much useless to. Had to 3D print a narrower ring because the stock one only has about 1mm clearance when the inner ring is tightened

Ive ran a few different sets of cheap wheels along with both boom racing & locked up rc wheels. The boom racing & locked up rc wheels are both way nicer than the cheap ones. They all do the job they are supposed to do though. The only wheels Ive actually had that I cant stand and had constant problems with was RC4WD wheels.

Default Cheap Chinese Wheels

I just started putting together a set of “Que-T” brand (cheap/Chinese/Amazon) bead locks.

The machining, fit and finish were excellent.
They came with extra bolts both for the outer bead, and the “lug” bolts/assembly bolts
The inner ring was fine, but had some VERY minor nicks/scratches… at this moment, I can’t say for sure that they came like that, or buy putting them back in the box without the packing, that I may have caused the marks.

1 thing I did notice on the stainless hardware. The 2mm screws didn’t really fit a 1.5 hex key as snug as I would like.
So instead of the 1.5mm hex key, I used a T6 torx head driver.
Much more secure.

I got all of the screws in the other ring. None stripped, and all allowed for plenty of torque.
A few of the screws were not absolutely perfectly straight and true (most screws are not). You could feel the head as it passed into the countersink for it. Honestly surprised that both:
1) They were that tight of a fit
2) that only a few made contact
No issues with the larger screws.

All in all, I’m quite happy with them.
Not sure how you could make these any better save for more “perfect” hardware.
The machining and anodizing was excellent.

I am new to the hobby and starting small with the 1/24 scale . I have only purchased 2 sets of wheels . The first set was all aluminum Injora 1.0 W2403SR . Very simple 5 M2 (I think) screws to assemble with no problems . The second set was the Injora 1.0 stamped steel negative offset 1004WH wheels , these use 6 1.4mm screws to assemble . I saw the broken screw reviews but took a chance.
I think I had 6 screw holes out of 24 that didn’t feel right , the small screws stopped before tight , my remedy was to install a screw through the back side to clear out anything in the threads . That worked and they went in perfect after that.

I buy all my alloy wheels from China through ebay.
Granted I always use the same vendor. (Nice, communicative human being)
Biggest issue is the wait. Quality control or fitment is not of issue.
Chinese metallurgy / machining has come a long way from days of the past.
Perfect example is VITAVON machine works. They produce some quality metal work.
And since I've purchased an Axial SCX6... I've sent them nearly $ 1000. so far ! (And still growing).
Bottom line the Chinese folk are seemingly more Capitalistic then some Americans.
Whatever happened to the spirit of competition ?
American venders need to relearn what that means.
Granted I know the Chinese vendors took some of your intellectual ideas.
But that is not where competition starts nor ends.
I swear the Chinese people are not a lazy people,
but are thrifty and more inclined to satisfy their customer's needs / interests.
All that coming from a communistic rule !?
I swear the Chinese people are more capitalistic then Americans are.
I suggest we stop whining about it and do something that increases productivity and competes against them.
Do something about it besides whine.
Sorry if the truth pisses folk off. Not my intent.
My intent is to motivate American ingenuity.

There's no way we can compete with China there company's don't need to turn a profit cause all businesses are owned in part by the government

Heck we can't even buy the raw material for what they charge for a finished set of wheels

As far as the IP there haven't been any real design change in wheels since the 50s so everyone is copying every one with just minor changes so licenced wheels are a joke in my opinion

Lazy or not labor in America isn't free or cheap a hour of labor even at minimum wage cost more than a set of wheels let alone the material packaging shipping and all that goes in to it

I don't like it but that's the way it is
Maybe if I had more cash I would buy vanquish wheels but until I hit the lottery I'll have to buy cheap Chinese wheels

^ that's the truth.

^ one can thank the certain political party for that.
But fairly has to do with the costs of increased inflation.
Of which that particular party created even more hysteria concerning.

^ but isn't Vanquish stuck on this antiquated notion of using SAE hardware standards...
on a car designed using metric measurements and using metric hardware ?
Not a worldly competitor IMO

Wake up to the facts. The entire world is the marketplace now, this isn’t like Harley and asking for tariffs because product was being intentionally marketed by the government to undercut real prices (look at HD prices today)
It’s hard to keep prices dirt cheap if paying for labor in the USA.
Just look At Facebook for servo prices, Amazon and China win, many have figured that out and have changed buying to quality not price. Blaming Govt is easy, but ultimately market forces prices

Hang up and Drive

I just received 5 of these inexpensive Chinese alloy bead lock wheels.
For my Axial SCX6 Trial Honcho.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/195847008056?var=495693219304

https://photos.app.goo.gl/NZ38Hs1SJ6zxR3FZ8

And installed the Proline Interco G8 TSL Super Swamper tires, with Power Hobbies Dual Stage foam inserts on / in them.

The tires / DS foams install went on perfectly easy and was a perfect fitment for these wheels.

I'm fairly pleased with my Chinese alloy bead lock wheels !
And my SCX6 just gained some more weight. Lol

Cheap Chinese bead lock wheels for the win !

They are supposed to be the orange colored ones.
But they are actually a gold metallic color.

Received my other set of alloy wheels today !
Same as the others but all black in color.
I think I'll try and mount the original rtr tires with
some Power Hobbies DS foam inserts, until Proline
releases some paddle tires for these

^ holey Moses that's a big picture ! And I even have a big screen ! ?
But I can't see that pic without scrolling way over.
If using Photobucket maybe a smaller picture would make for a better viewing ?

Besides the grainy resolution/focus leaves much to be desired.

Wait you already posted this picture on post # 67 (and it was big even then)
But this is ridiculous IMO
