| Quality tire on chinese beadlock wheels
I have a good (to me) set of Chinese beadlock wheels and am looking for a "good" set of tires to put on them. Now it's mostly rock and some sandy conditions in N. Utah and I don't compete. I have been reading Hyroks may be a problem because of the beads themselves. The wheels I have are metal 1.9. As in this economy money is always a consideration so with these constraints - So what do you guys recommend? BTW I have always run just stock TRX4 Sport tires.

If you cut n' sipe those Canyon Trails, throw away the stock foams and replace them with anything better (my favorite being "double buns," the inner from an Amazon dual-stage with a medium hair bun in place of the open-cell foam) you can get properly good performance out of Canyon Trails. I have a number of videos about it on my channel: Canyon Trail Performance Enhancement Dual Stage Hair Buns |

These 3 Chinese wheels all have Pro-Line tires. The ones with the silver rings, the beads went in just fine other than the initial few screws it takes to get it started. The last set is actually a 2.0 size, and makes aftermarket foams fit nice and snuggly. 1.9 Boom Racing TE37 reps on 4.19 BFG KM3 with stock foams 1.9 Vanquish Machete reps on Hyrax 4.75 Pro-Line dual stage foams 2.0 Machete reps on BFG Krawlers 4.75 Pro-Line dual stage foams |

Check out West Desert Wheeler on Youtube. See what tires he runs. He's in southern Utah and runs at Sand Hollow a lot.

In response to the Early Bronco tires (Axial's Falken Wildpeak M/T), they're a pretty solid tire. They do best in loose, deep terrain like sand, mud or loose dirt. They're decent on rocks too. But if you're shooting for a tire that will spend most of its time on rocks, there are a lot of better choices than the Falken. For all around off-roading or trail driving, the Falkens are an excellent choice. |

If you do buy proline and do most of your crawling in hotter weather use the G8 compound the predator can be too soft Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk |

Proline tires used to be a pain to mount but seems like most wheels have adapted to them. At this point, I mostly run Vanquish wheels but have used many knockoffs from ebay and Amazon. Most of the time the tires mount up pretty easy but sometimes you get some that want to make your life miserable. Doesnt seem to be specific to any brand of tire or wheel. The biggest PITA are wagon wheels. The stamped steel wheels with no visible beadlock ring. Getting tires on those things will really test your patience. Oversized foams (like stock Proline) on narrow wheels are also a pain. |
