Yeah, they work well but they don't have the right compound. They are also sort of stiff and wide. They work really well on sharp rock, once you get them on the slick stuff moabs are way better. Bart Bender, a guy in our club is using the aftershock style. The ones with the hollow lugs like the 2.2's, he really likes them and he scores really well with them too. yep the big standard claws suck almost everywhere...too bouncy and too stiff...there meant for high speed runs not slow crawling...

at first they seem like they would kick ass but once you run them they suck. they are super soft but i think that is what is wrong. it seems like the lugs dont want to hold onto things they grab

One of the guys in our club was testing a set with red Kreepy's in them, and he was doing things the XL's wouldn't, in some situations, but other situations the XL's were better. They do work on some rock, just not on other. I ran a borrowed set from Hotwheels000 at a comp last december, and they worked just as good as the XL's and Gianttracs that day. Trying them out for yourself is the only way to really see if they will work for your particular situation, but that is kind of a spendy solution. |

I have a set from a aftershock on my super now and they hook up very well for me. I like them just don't need them anymore so I am selling them with a set of maxximizer beadlocks with them.

yep those are the old ones like the lst tires, these are the new aftershock (i think) tires with the hollow lugs and on the high traction rocks we have in the south they suck. I am still hoping to try them on some different terrain but so far they look like they have no future |

Are those just stretched onto the rims? They look a lot taller and narrower than mine do on maxximizers.

How bout some 8 1/2" LST's? I'd have to agree. When they first came out, they weren't bad. Once a few softer compound tires came out, these went out.......the window. Here's a small video of mine right before I sold them. You can see, they work decent at best, but not much to really brag about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUkQz_a0IYI |

I bought a set before Nationals thinking I'd have a secret weapon if they worked as well as the 2.2 Rock Claws.......but they don't. They feel soft enough to work but they just bounce alot and don't hook up...for me atleast. The way the sidewall turns inward (like all maxx tires) hurt them I think. I did mess with them much after I realized they were nowhere as good as the XL's. Maybe with some work they would be okay at best. |

Is there some kind of spray or something that could stiffen up just the lugs? I see what some of you were saying, the lugs tend to fold over fairly easy.

Yeah that is what I thought, but then if you think about it and feel your 2.2 rock claws, they seem to do the same but hook up like crazy

The LST sized Claws used to be the tire to use prior to 40 series Moabs...even at Bucks Pocket.
