In my shop class my teacher is goin tolet me braze my tuber up...its 1/4 brake line.
It is a ceatline(spelling) and oxy torch...gold rod(i dont know the brand) and some flux(dont know the brand eather)
Would the torch be to much for the line? I dont want to melt thro it.

Provided you using the correct tip it will work fine. I'd get the part red hot then hold torch at a distance away to keep it hot but not melting. It takes practice.

You mean acetelyne and oxygen torch. The gold rod you refer to is a bronze or brass rod. Brazing is done at tempratures over 1600 degrees F so your steel brake lines will be ok. Use a #0 or a #1 tip in your torch.

Be careful using your basic brazing rod as it takes more heat to melt. First time I ever tried brazing, i melted the brakeline before the rod would melt.

For Brazing practice make a articulation parking ramp... that way you get the hang of brazing and not waste materials.
