Default thickness of sheets

is 0.6mm aluminium alright for make servo mounts etc.......

or will i need something more like 2 mm thick be better

0.6 millimeter = 0.0236"

That's twenty-three (four if you round) thousandths of an inch!

2mm would be better.

I use 3mm or 1/8"

WORD........... I'd go up to at least .125 or 3mm like JIA suggested. As I stated in the other post, 0.6-2mm might be a bit flimsy for your application.
