Default Mills lathes and CNC stuff!!

Ok everyone can kick me hard in the tookus if Im screwing up on posting this
BUT
Im looking for a mill/ lathe I have seen those deals at harbor freight most being these huge machines I think youd use on fullsized carparts. . . eh
I have also seen the sherline deals ( crapped myself when I looked at the CNC prices, yes cheap compared to industrial tools but still made me widdle myself!) as well I really would like to get something that can be converted to cnc or is cnc without a pc in the package. Serline sells the 3grand systems with a pc, I REALLY dont need another pc in the house.
So the question is are the sherlines worth it and what should be the important things to locate and buy?
Im figureing I should locate a mill/late unit and a rotery table to do round stuff. I have avalibility of endmills and other related bits. ( dunno if they would chuck into it though)
{edit} I forgot I keep hearing about a sherline that is a mill lathe but I have yet to see anything that is a 2 in 1 tool am I missing it or is this something they no longer make?? Second metirc or inch?? lol I know most of the stuff I'll mill is for well metric rc cars.. . . does this matter any?
