Default brake tube on sale at Advanced auto parts

went to advanced on wensday to buy some brake tube for a tuber project. well they invite me in the back to pick out what i need. they take me to some of that new plastic green coated crap. well as i turn around and start to walk out, i spot the old galvanized stuff. so i grab 3 sticks of 60" marked at the usual $4.98 each. well when i get to the front the guy charges me $1.95 each. i didnt say a word.
well got to thinking and went back today. there still on clearance she said cause there switching to the new green coated crap. so i bought every stick of 3/16 and 1/4" they had at $1.95 each.
thought id pass along the tip/savings....

Up here every is switching to that new stuff. It's getting harder & harder to find the regular galvanized.

I'll have to stop by Advanced and see if they have any left. Thanks man

i work for one of their sister wholesalers and just talked to them. you should, depending on location, be able to still get the regular stuff but overnight or 2days out.

its some new anti-rust thing in the store now ..... luckily i stock the regular steel still

can always ask them about the 25' rolls they sell ..... might be easier and cost effective that way and it shouldnt be coated.

Galvanized is better just because it's a lot easier to remove the coating on it. Luckily, they're slower up here in Canada to switch over. You actually have to look to find the green coated stuff ! I've noticed brakeline prices jumped recently. I was paying about $5 for a 60" piece, and now its around $7.50! Yeah, not a lot more, but when I buy 10 pieces at a time, it adds up.

I'll take a little sanding over breathing galvanize fumes.
