| Cheap band saw
Went to Lowes on Saturday. Their Task Force 9" band saw is regularly $99. They had them on clearance for $54. These weren't brought back, they were NIB off the shelf. Had to finally pick me one up. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...02W&lpage=none |

Tyy to get a bimetal, a vari tooth is best, or if you can find a carbide, then you can even cut stainless steel

I wish I didn't pay $99 for mine. Here's how I converted my Task Force to cut slower so you don't burn up your blade trying to cut metal: Metal cutting band saw conversion When the blade moves slower it is so much nicer to cut with. Even plastics cut better b/c the heat from friction is reduced. |

got that one a while back, works real well. the metal blade gets picky if you try to go to fast through the thick stuff, but other wise it works great for everthing. the only thing i dont like is the slide guide is ( i feel ) to far away from the blade to keep a good straight cut. |
