I do someting like this but use magnet sheet... cut it to fit the compartment and use double stick tape to hold it in place(CA works also) I started doing this when i was tired of digging through the small zip lock bags I use to use for tiny set screws and such... I also keep a small set of tweezers in my box... makes grabbing those TINY ass 2.5x2.5 set screws easy |

my favorite is tearing up old hard drives for the magnets. they are insane power to weight ratio.

I have one of these that I got at the local Wally world for less than 5 bucks. Works like a champ at keeping all the little clips, screws and nuts in one place. Eric Last edited by RustlerHustler; 04-21-2009 at 12:21 PM. | |

yeah the hard drive magnets are gnarly.. I do appliance repair and keep the magnetron magnets from microwaves.... they are 3"dia x 3/8"w, and they are pretty tough.. hit up an appliance repair shop and ask them for a few magnetron magnets |

I put magnets in all the small parts bins at work. It sure helps. I use magnets from ace hardware they are not really strong but work well for this sort of thing.

I use film canisters to hold all my small parts. Have one for body clips. There great. Use a piece of masking tap and label them. There small and fit in my trays in my pit box. Best thing is they are free. Just ask the clerk behind the desk at photo dept for their used film canisters that they normally throw away. I once got 14 in one go. I know! I always get a little excited over something free. |

I use empty chew tins for small stuff. Peel the labels off and wash them out and you good to go. Plus you can actually fit your fingers in it to pick something out.

Magnets work good,if you don't use stainless hardware.
