After seeing all the tube bender post and building my tubers I talked with my machinest and we came up with a simple tube bender that can do this! Im going to put it though some testing maybe add some larger dies and maybe alittle more adjustment and see if we can offer all of you a killer little tube bender Can bend up to 1/4 sold More info: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...83#post1816783 BTW at the top of the first pic that is a peice of SS that I put in the bender on edge worked great! 1/8 aluminum 3/16 Tubeing Last edited by JFAB; 05-28-2009 at 11:01 AM. |

here's my cheap/cost bender i came up with for bending some tube up....i made a mandral from a 5/16" bolt to fit 3/16" brake line to keep it from kinking....i made it from some 3/8" brake/tranny line and mounted it between two washers....best part is i had the stuff just laying around that cost less then a dollar to by if i had to...............bob .... |

Question,,,How do you bend tubing without a die,,without it kinking/flattening out?

With this bender the most important thing is you hold the material tight to the die. Ive never had any material kink but I have had some start to flaten out a tiny bit with super thin wall tubeing but there are ways to smooth that out either while you bend or after you can tap the top of the bend with a small hammer to take the small flat spot out. Hope this helps thanks James |
