Default butane soldering setups?

which of these would be more well suited for RC soldering? i imagine the 15-75 watt one, but ive never used a butane setup and want something i can take out crawling and SC racing.

No idea on the soldering irons but how far do you get from your vehicle?

we're rarely very far from the vehicles... not usually more than a 5min walk.

I know it might sound like a lot, but this is the BEST thing I have done that has helped me when out in places without power. You cant see it in the pics because I didnt have it installed at the time, but I bought one of these.......

http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-CPI-1575.../dp/B00126IDDC

Ran a pos and neg wire to the back with a ground wire. So basically, I have a female extension cord end in the back of my truck. Then just put the positive end on the power inverter. You can also use and extension cord to make it reach your pit table or what ever. It probably cost me about $200 total to do it but it is a huge help, not to mention I dont have to worry about killing my truck battery when charging.........if I need a jump for some reason, I can jump myself (I know that doesnt sound right).

But seriously, I would think about it.

that's a cool setup you got there man. when i start working again ill look into something like that but right now its a little out of my price range. considering i'd have to buy a soldering setup still after the inverter, since mine died a couple weeks ago.

I have a butane soldering kit that I purchsed at the Home Depot for about 12 bucks. For me its well worth it. Plus, it fits in my pocket. Gets super hot quick. Just make sure to always have a clean tip.

DON'T BUY A SNAP ON/ BLUE POINT one!!!! I own the first one listed. It is just a rebranded weller for 3 times the price! It works, well, OK. Will never get as hot or reheat as fast as a HAKKO 936 station!

Yeah I've been very impressed with them. Everybody where I work has them, they are handy as you don't have to be tied to a wall. It's no Hakko soldering station but it gets the job done.

I was digging around on McMaster-Carr and found these http://www.mcmaster.com/#soldering-irons/=3jwyt8
I'm not sure how much your willing to spend but the one in the middle is $60 takes 4 hours to charge is 25 watts has a tip temp of 900 and takes 10 seconds to heat up. I didn't even know they made cordless soldering irons. I guess if you look around you might be able to find something cheaper. I thought they were pretty cool though. You wouldn't have to worry about buying butane either. Just charge it up and go.

the only reviews and such ive see on on cordless soldering irons are bad. never actually heard anything good about them. not saying that those are the same but i'd much rather keep a can of butane with me then worry about how long the battery is gonna last.

snap on truck i think ?

blue point.
YAKS22. i use it all the time, perfect setup.
i had the other one that came from homer de pot.
works but not so nice.
bluepoint i think... very nice

only thing is you have to be careful where the heat exits the tip. i have melted a wire or two not paying attention.
