| Anyone tried plastic welding?
I'm curiouse to see if anyone has tried using a plastic welder to make new brackets on axles. I want to make a coil spring bracket on my axle, but i dont want a big axle truss. If anyone has tried it, how was the strength?

I've done a fair amount in the past, and from what I remember, I don't think it would work very well. Most of the weld joints seem to be brittle, but that may depend on the material.

You should be able to rent a welder. Thats what we did when we needed one. Our local plastics supply house that sold the welders also rented them. Its still expensive, but not as bad as buying one.
