just out of curiosity, what are you planning to do with it?

I have found .006-.007 aluminum and copper in small pieces probably 5x5 or so at my lhs.

id rather not say yet. and yes ive found aluminum that thin, but i need steel.

and i would prefer 35 gauge im not sure i could make the 30 gauge work for this application. probly too thick. the 35 gauge is about .007"

if you find a roofing company they should have some little square sheets of sheet metal. they are not too thick and pretty easy to work with.
i made armor panels and kicker panels out of them.

I know, but that is about how thick and solid that gauge of steel is.;-)

AFAIK, most roofing supplied stuff (flashing) is between 20 and 25 gauge.

I have been looking into this for a way to make stamped body panels. Aluminum is all I have found thin enough. I think annealing some 30ga is what I will have to go with if I want steel.

the roof "flashing" i got are little squares about 6in by 6in, mabe a little bigger. i got a bunch left. i could try and figure out a way to send one in the mail....
i think you could easily heat it up and stamp out a body panel.

That is step flashing, you can buy packs of 100 pcs for like $5 at Lowes. I still have about 20 from the last pack I bought. It is galvanized so I would be careful with how you heat it so that you don't gas yourself with fumes.
