I use the corner of my grinder to fish mouth tube. Its not exact but its better than nothing. Another option would be to use a mill with a bit the same size as the tube.

Jay (ROKTOY) has an excellent general how-to on his site. http://www.mindspring.com/~jayk6/rcs...ab/tubefab.htm OR... You could send them to Fishmaxx, let him slobber all over'm and send'm back to you. Either way should work, but I think Jay's way is a bit quicker and, most likely, a bit more sanitary.

It dosn't need to be perfect. The solder fills in the gaps pretty good. You also need to take the fishmouth into consideration when you measure. I did some joints on my tube frame using half fishmouths as well.

First off move this to the NEWB section, Then Buy a Dremel and a 1/4" sanding drum or appropiate size grinding drum. I use a bench grinder The corner works awesome.

I wouldn't consider a question about construction of tubers a NEWB topic. | |

Another way is to hold the line in a vise and use a round file. Because it's only brakeline, there's really no advantage to doing this on a mill, unless there are lots of pieces already cut, then a mill might be faster.

If you've got good drill bits, you can chuck the same size of whatever tube you are using into a drill press and push it against the bit. Not that great for the bit, but it doesn't use that part up there to cut much anyway

I found the mill to take waay too much time for the end result. I touch the edges to my grinder wheel. Not a perfect fishmouth, but it is better than a flat end.

I use my drimil cut off wheel. I start with a "V" then, expanded it out to look like a "U". Then to make it nice I put it againts the proper size sanding wheel. Takes about 10 minutes to do both ends. but has a nice fit against the other parts with minimal gaps.

I use the fine stone on my bench grinder. After you build a few chassis and fish mouth a bunch of tube, you'll find that the corner rounds off and becomes perfect for fish mouthing. Mine come out perfect every time now. I fishmouth one side, test fit, mark to the center to the connecting tube, cut, then mouth it. Done. 45 seconds tops.
