Default Turbo Torch Question

Thinking about trying my hand at brazing. I know most guys here seem to prefer oxy-acetylene set-ups but I have access to air acetylene type torches (B and MC tanks) where I work and I am wondering if that would be suitable for brazing 3/16" brake line and 5/32 or 3/16 rod?

I can get small (1/8") tips in either the Swirl (hotter burn) or Sof-Flame (cooler burn) styles. Here are a couple links:

Air Acetylene Extreme Standard Torch Kits, 12_56-1252
Air Acetylene Sof-Flame Torch Kits, 13_56-1252

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm a fan of Turbo torches myself, but I've been waiting fror an ebay bargain on a A-2 tip before experimenting on brake line brazing.

Cool. I stopped the local welding supply house on the way home yesterday and they have this Smith air actylene wand, tip and hose pkg for about $65 total. With a free tank and regulator from work, I can be into a what I think will be a pretty good brazing set up for cheap.

That seems nice. Let us know how it compares to the turbo torch.

You should also check out the INFERNO line from Harris. I have a turbotorch and after demoing the Inferno set, I can tell you they have much better torch heads. They don't get hot, the flame is concentrated straight ahead, right were you want it.

I want to sell my turbo for the Inferno, now.
