| Plasti Dip or Liquid Tape?
Looking at options to coat a roof rack I made out of a bird suet feeder thingamabob. Plasti Dip makes their regular plasti dip that I know works good for this stuff, but my local hardware place has liquid tape that is in the smaller (and cheaper) container that has a little brush that makes it a lot easier to apply. My question is, does anyone know if the Liquid Tape is basically the same thing and will hold up as well as the Plasti Dip, or should I just pay the little extra for the plasti dip and use a throwaway brush? I'm going to be putting on at least two or three layers to make the rack look a little beefier, here's the roof rack I'm wanting to coat... |

The rustolium truck bed coating has a nice texture, but it's thin. But spraying something on would be the way to go. Maybe rubberized undercoating spray..

Liquid tape is gonna' be messy as all get out and won't go on very smoothly. Plasti Dip coats much cleaner and will protect better as well. |

I would try some cheap bed liner it will be thin and should be perfect for your project unless you want a specific color.

I just used the bedliner on a bumper I just made and it looks just like a Warn bumper for a Jeep that has a texture. All I am gonna use from now on.

I,d vote for the Bedliner. Prob tougher. Watch the liquid tape prods, as a lot of them have some cancer causing agents in them. |

I ended up getting the Plasti Dip spray. We'll see how it holds up here soon. Gonna spray it on the roof rack sometime this weekend if its warm enough outside, I'll post some results after it dries. Thanks for the suggestions!

''sem'' brand rubberized undercoating hands down the best, tried em all. and its paintable. i used it on my 1.1 rig and had people ask if it was real truck bed liner. awesome even texture. dont know the availability of it nation wide but my local paint supplier has it. try ''hawleys'' paints.com in santa rosa ca. |

Got some sprayed on and got a few pics. Also got a chance to run it this weekend and took several hard falls and tumbles, it seemed to do pretty good. I only had one hunk taken out but it was after falling a few feet down onto a sharp rock. |
