....
thats how i made mine was on a piece of steel plate that about a foot square. it will for sure kee the tube parallel i think im gonna make a couple different size mandrels for larger dia. bends such stingers and such. maybe a 3/4 bolt with iinch conduit for a spacer, i'll have tto fab something for the washers. after i'm done i'll post pics thanks again bob it was very simple and easy to do. in my opinion it bends the best ive seen so far, and by a million miles the cheapest lol

So how was this done exactly?

if it was heated you would see heat marks....it is just plain ol 3/16 brake line and check out the pictures of me bending it, can't get any more simple then that ....i only work with brake line.......bob

Yes it's brake line I made one myself and it works the washers keep the brake line from expanded(crimping) they're easy to make and work better than a 60$ bender trust me.. I know from experience.... Nice work mr bobarino

Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean it's not possible. Pretty rude to call bob a liar like that.

I have a similar bob style bender, and it works quite well. I am suprised at the tight radius bends it is able to make.

Great job on the bender. Tube work looks sweet

Sand, salt and rice is what you use when you don't have a bender like this. If it works on steel then it will work even better on softer metals like brass and alum

I made one of these with the help of your thread, right to the exact description.

BUT for what ever reason I am getting crimps in my bends. My set up is riding between the washers, and along the 3/8 brake line..

Question is now, should it be riding on the insides of the washers or along the out side of the washers? I wish I had taken a pic of what I was exactly doing. If I need to I will get pics uploaded on monday.

Thanks!

I believe (without pictures) is you want to be inside the washers. The "spacer" should match your tube OD, the washers are guide flanges. Sorta like a rope in a pulley.

Thanks!
Try making the fit between the washers a little bit tighter. Shorten the 3/8" diameter spacer a hair to do this.
