i've never done it but seems pretty simple. draw your lines and cut a pie shape and then pinch the bedsides together again.

| I can imagine that I would use some kind of template. And later use glue to connect the pieces. Also i have seen people use servo mounts for connecting the sides. Works alot better than the glue. |

Cut the section out, squeeze the body together and use another peice of lexan under the body where you cut it in half and glue the peice of lexan there to hold the two parts together.

Some "go faster stripes" using pinstriping tape on the outside can hide any mistakes you make cutting.

I'm assuming you mean styrene. Just measure the width of the hood, figure out how wide you want it,take the difference and divide it in half and remove that amount from each sode. For instance I say my yoga front end is 6 in wide, and I want it 4 in wide.6-4=2, 2 divided by 2 equals 1 so I want to remove 1 in from each side. So I usually mark from the line where the hood and the fender meet, and measure one inch in. From this mark ( the 1 in mark)I get a straight edge and run a line like this / back towards the fender/hood line somewhere near the cowl. Make your cut. A LITTLE heat and pinch it in to meet the hood. Then add your adhesive

You are the coolest if you can, i wonder if the mods could make a thread or sticky of all styrene mods like this, interior, and others?

I have some pics of some that I have done. These are all hard bodies for scale guys, but they should help you. If you have any questions I do a lot of body works on scalers for people.I usually start from scratch on the back half but you don't have to, then mask a template to the table to make sure it's square and follow this as a guide when bending. I use a thin tip heat gun on a scribed line for a tight bend, I hope this helps. Here are a couple I have done for myself, one doved and a vw I turned into a surf truck Last edited by Rokpile; 05-07-2011 at 10:53 AM. |

Do you scribe the line on the inside? If you got pics of that, it would help because I'm thinking on just using my new body and bending the fender inward than cutting them

| Small bead of glue would be my guess... In other words, run a thin line of glue down the scribed line. *edit* this thread click has a few good pics in it... Last edited by montana.matt; 05-07-2011 at 11:25 AM. |

it does but the problem I'm having is where is the relief cut so that the fender can bend inwards?

| I haven't done one yet, but my guess would be where the crude arrows are pointing (scribe it on the inside where the "bend" would start). I'll be doing one in a month or so, so I guess I'll find out one way or another |

if you hold a hair dryer on the fender for few secs and push it inward it will bend in the perfect spot

Just for info http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5CGfoxnKaQ you can just find a toy scale body and vacum mold it like a real rc body |
