Very nice and clean set up.
I'm currently re-doing my shop 18' x 20' with new benches, over head shelf, lumber rack and peg board. I know have a good idea for cable management

What type of rivits are you using to keep the tray looking so flat?
Every thing I find here have to much on the back end and I have been trying to find some that are pretty flat on both sides.

XD pretty much stays there if I'm out there. Nice neighborhood and all, but I used to have some crazy-ass neighbors. The boyfriend would put a pistol in the girlfriend's face. I was playing darts one night and she came over and said "Jason, he's got a gun and I'm scared." He came out of the house, saw her in front of the garage talking to me, and he came to my house and got in my face. Kept talking about how he's a man and he handles things like a man "Do ya feel me?" Dude was/is a First Sergeant in the Army too.

They had both been drinking so I played stupid and made him explain "Do ya feel me" while keeping an eye on his hands. By that time the XD had found it's way to the winch plate on the TJ...right behind me.

I was glad to see those crazies move. On trash day you'd hear a dull thud as the cans from the neighbors were emptied - except for the crazies. Sounded like a damn beer bottle wind chime being dropped. I swear their trash was nothing but beer bottles.

Anyway...

I'm still dickin' around getting tool trays made. Finally finished this one for the big file set.

Still have a few ideas bouncing around to make the most of the space I have.

Just regular short aluminum rivets. The back side keeps the tray in place when you put it in a drawer with foam liner.

A few of the drawers are pretty much set up as well. might make some slight changes (especially to the socket drawer) but at least ALL of the sockets are now in one location.

Below sockets are the wrenches.

3rd drawer has excess screwdrivers (memory issues resulted in THREE sets of the Stanley FatMax drivers), pry bars, and the better pliers.

Then there's the electrical stuff in the 4th drawer.

Not sure what you're talking about. Tool holders? Hutch?

Materials for this hutch were about $180 for everything above the toolbox. That's all of the metal, wood, pegboard, lights, desk grommets, and other little crap I bought.

(6) 1/8" x 3/4" x 4' (clearance - $2.63 ea) $18 Lowe's
(2) 1/8" x 1" x 6 (about $9 ea) $18 Lowe's
(2) 1/8" x 3/4" x 6 (about $9) $18 Lowe's
(1) 4' x 8' sheet of MDF $25 Home Depot
(1) Set of six Xenon puck lights $37 Lowe's
(1) 4' x 8' sheet of white pegboard $17 Home Depot
(1) 2' x 4' sheet of white pegboard $7 Home Depot
(3) 2" White furniture hole grommets $12 Home Depot
(2) 2' x 3' sheets of 18ga steel $25 at local welding/metal supply shop
(1) 4' x 8' sheet of 1/4" MDF laminated white on both sides $2 (cull lumber) Home Depot

So it adds up to $179.

Labor for something like that would vary from person to person.

While it won't help you, I've since moved the T-handle stuff to the pegboard. Much better.

Thanks, man. The amount of tools I have is due to being as self-supportive as I can. I like being able to do things myself instead of relying on someone else. After 16 or so years, you tend to collect a few tools. Keeping them organized helps me know what I have. Otherwise I'd end up with duplicate sets of tools. I have four sets of Stanley FatMax screwdrivers.

Sure, PM me your address and when I get back in town I'll get some on the way to you.

I'm going to replace them with Wera Laser Tips.

For those that are interested, here's a Harbor Freight coupon for the 56" roller.

Here's one I used that expires December 31st for the 5-drawer cart. It's 14 gauge steel.

We picked up two. Mina bought one for me, brother-in-law got one for the father-in-law.

Assembled his and I'm in the process of organizing his tools. He has several, but doesn't have them in a central location. I'll get that fixed tomorrow.

Holy crap it's a small world! I'm Tim's son (the "Moore" of Bikes and Moore). Thanks for the free sticker plug lol. I've been trying to get him to be more anal about tool organization for years now, show him some pictures or something. Tell him about the connection and kick Dave in the junk for me next time you're in the shop. I'll have to PM you next time I'm around Hopkinsville and have you show me around to localish spots.

The bike shop is well organized as far as tools go, I guess you're talking about at home? I've been to your dad's place on a group ride, but we just went by to drop him off - never saw his garage.

I just like to give him a hard time about it because as you said, the shop is fairly well organized and we DO take a good deal of pride in that type of image (thanks a lot for noticing btw, 31 years of working through different set-ups to find just that right mix) and I've been trying to convince him (unsuccessfully) to hook up his home shop as well.

Got a $7 wire shelf from Lowe's. Has 71 slots in it.

I cut a piece long enough to fit the top of my cart and stuck all of my pliers and all the kids' pliers in the top of the cart. I still have adjustable wrenches to put in there so I'll cut another length of shelf for the back side (where the old dish rack holder is) and be done with it.

Are you on pirate4x4.com? There was a guy with your same attention to detail on there that built a sweet Tube/Console radio into a karaoke/jukebox radio.
