Question What kind of steel plate for boat sides & bumpers?

I was wondering what kind, and thickness, of steel do you guys use for making boat sides and bumpers? Where do you get it?

I mostly use stainless these days. I use around 20 to 22 gauge for most of my builds. I have a place called BBC Steel near me (they do laser cutting and other fabricating) that I get scraps from. I bought 5 or 6 pieces of various thickness between 12" by 12" and 18" by 24" for $20 the other day.

The 22 gauge is the best compromise of being thin enough to bend and still thick enough to silver solder.
