| Need a few questions answered for my first styrene build.
I am starting my first styrene build. Sense I don't have anywhere to weld or anything I am going to be building my chassis and bumpers and most everything from styrene. I have been searching but don't really know what is a good thickness of styrene to use? I don't plan on bashing this super hard but it has to stand up to a little abuse. What do u guys think. |

i wouldnt be building a truck completely from styrene. its not very strong stuff, the frame would have to much flex imo. i have the same problem of having no space or the tools needed for brazing, buy as many parts as you can and just make the rest out of styrene. |

I find styrene sheet from 0.5mm to 2mm thick work well. For bumpers or similar parts that need to be thicker you will have to glue several layers and cut or sand down to shape. Styrene is very easy to shape. I would not advise you to build your chassis out of styrene. You will have to over dimension it so much that the looks will suffer. |

I saw that jeep that guy build with the styrene chassis it looks good and looks pretty strong. I'm not going to do any crazy wheeling just light trails.
