I would try to stay away from a rolling table for the mill , I need to put 2 more diagonal braces on my mill table, at certain RPM's it want's to wobble or sway back and forth.

The mill has its own stand, I'm going to put wheels on the tables I have now. Maybe. I'll wait to do anything drastic until I've actually got the thing. It may sit up high enough to slide the tables under each end of it. Don't want it to get too cramped though.

I think I've just got a serious case of TMS.

I have the same problem, TMS , peg board helps a bunch for alot of the tooling and I bought a couple 3 tier metal shelves, The kind that slide over round tubing and have plastic insets to set height of each shelf, to sit at each end of my mill table, that way I can sit things off to either side witout walking away from the machine.

We have a 3016 in our shop as well. I thought that looked like a Fadal pullstud.

I bought pegboard on the way home tonight, but its going to be a PITA because I've got a light switch, outlet, breaker box, and window to frame around.

Instead, I could slide my workbench down to the opposite end of the wall. That would give me tons of wall space around the mill and waaaaay less hassle to get it hung. But my god, is there a bunch of crap on/around/under/over that bench that is going to have to be relocated.

Looks like you could move that bench with the scroll saw and drill press and slide it right in there. Easy to run an outlet from that breaker panel.

I actually built a VERY sturdy wood workbench and it sits smack in the middle of my shop, that way I have a vise mounted on one corner and have room for my scroll saw, belt/disc sander and 4 sides to work from with a full shelf underneath.

I actually took a tablet and while I was waiting for my machine to arrive I probally drew 50 floor plans .

I see a model railroad layout started there, I used to be consumed by HO, had to get rid of it all, sure do miss them though.

I still need to be able to get a vehicle in the garage if I need to, so no big work benches out in the middle of the floor, though that would otherwise be ideal.

The two tables you mentioned have already been pulled out and turned sideways. The mill should fit between, but I'm not going to place any bets on it.

I still think moving the big bench all the way to the left would be ideal. I might try it tonight. I installed a new outlet there the other nite. Since I was knocking holes in wall I went ahead and doubled up on the plugs, and that would really be more beneficial over the bench then it would be behind the mill.

Good luck Chris, I know it's a bitch, cause you want the space to be permanent, and you've got some moving to do .
The pegboard is a big plus, I have quite a bit of my tooling on that and the rest on the 2 small 3 tier shelfs.

A POS Colt Airsoft. If shooting close range on a curve is your thing, that's the one to get.

Got the bench moved and the back wall cut down to clear the breaker box. I think its going to be better. Somewhat less wallspace, but I can go higher up without worrying about the garage door track. Time to put up some pegboard.

The battle continues. I've been pushing pretty hard this week, both at work and at home, so I dropped my pace considerably last night. Its coming along though. The mill arrives tomorrow evening after work.

That's the way to start a weekend . And have a friend handy, you'll need a extra set of hands.
Have your camera ready.

Loaded up and ready for delivery!

My gawd that thing is heavy, and the table it sits on isn't much better.

Got a box full of collets, endmills of various sizes/shaped/flutes, a drill chuck, and another box full of plastic scrap for me to practice on.

Should be at the house tomorrow evening. Can't wait!

He stayed long enough to run through a few things with me and take a chunk out of some delrin, then I pulled the endmill and collet out, unplugged it, and made myself swear that I wouldn't touch it until the garage was cleaned up. I then went in the house and had something to eat.

About an hour later I was out there goofing around with it.
